I'm pretty satisfied and happy for most of the times. Really luckier than a lot of people.
Sometimes my energy drops. Not because I suddenly hate my life or hate what I am doing -- It's like driving across Arizona.
Sometimes you would feel bored and lonely when on a really long road without seeing any other cars pass by. But, you would also be amazed by spectacular scenery of mountains or the river. Those breathtaking moments take away all your painful feelings.
I am JUST impatient with my relatively slow speed and anxious as comparing my progress with how fast Earth spins (or how fast a baby grows?) I can't lie to you: I dreamed of flying, but then worried about missing all those funny-shaped cacti--they make me laugh.

Final thoughts: It's life. I need something to take away my exhaustion. Perhaps the postponed honeymoon would do it?
This song reminds me the most difficult time in recent years. Falling in love was easy but the rest wasn't an easy ride. 'We're always fighting what we're feeling...' I really appreciate the peaceful moments we are having.
Human. Lyrics.
Can you tell me how we got in this situation, I can’t seem to get you off my mind, all these ups and downs, they trip up our good intentions, nobody said this was easy ride.
After all we’re only human, always fighting what we’re feeling, hurt instead of healing, after all we’re only human, is there any other reason why we stay instead of leavin’ after all
Can we get back to the point of this conversation, when we saw things through each others eyes, cause now all I see is ruin and devastation, we all need some place we can hide inside and
After all we’re only human, always fighting what we’re feeling, hurt instead of healing, after all we’re only human, is there any other reason why we stay instead of leavin’
I’m smart enough to know, that life goes by, and it leaves a trail of broken hearts behind,
if you feel I’m letting go, just give me time, I’ll come running to your side,
Can you tell me how we got in this situation, I can’t seem to get you off my mind cause
After all we’re only human, always fighting what we’re feeling, hurt instead of healing, after all we’re only human, is there any other reason why we stay instead of leavin’
After all we’re only human, always fighting what we’re feeling, hurt instead of healing, After all we’re only human, is there any other reason why we stay instead of leavin’ after all
Any other reason to stay instead of leavin’ after all, yeah
First time in the public library in Dundas. Came here because I'm waiting for the dental visit (dentistry is just next to the library). This library is a place with many people walking around (about 20 at a time) checking out books or using computers. Not many tables available. Not a place that I'd want to work on my writing everyday but maybe bring a child to read books or see some other people :) they seem have great collections of books/ dvds. for adults, teens, and kids (downstairs). Even though I am not that excited about writing here but I still have work to complete...
---- last night/ this morning, I had a complicated dream again. I dreamed of someone, who I haven't talked to perhaps more than 10 years -- I only exchanged some messages with her for a strange reason in my sophomore year. I know she's married and lives a happy life. Just wondering if this was something that has bothered me for years? I remember having my best friend in high school nearby me all the time...in the dream. I miss her. I miss walking with her or laughing together.
Said goodbye to my lovely Sealy twin size bed today. (my dreamy mattress). Don helped you find a good home :) I can still remember Richard and Wen Jun helped me pick the bed and move it to the apartment 5 years ago when I just arrived (Thank you!). The person who bought the bed from us also just arrived Bloomington this week...
Now it's almost time to find a bed in a new place again!
We just watched the movie 'up in the air' and yes, life is 'up in the air'
But tonight, we know where we're HEADING to.
Maybe doctoral programs are like frequent flyer's mileage points
You can set an arbitrary goal to yourself (again, like pursuing a doctoral degree) or you can use your time for real(?) life!
Now Don is using the mileage points and making them a big trip for us:)
So, this post is actually not about the movie or cool George Cloony (even though I was heartbroken when I knew Alex had a real family in the movie) This is about congratulations on your new job, don don!
I was (maybe still 'am') not a big fan of my Tuesday classfor the following reasons:
Tuesday is right after Monday... Endof my leisure time...
Tuesday class is the first class I teach every week. And as you can expect, I feel I didn't do my best teaching them.. because I also do better in my Friday section even when I've done okay on Tuesday.
Students in this Tuesday class seem not as interesting as students in my Friday section. Maybe because people get more interesting when it's getting close to weekends.. just my new theory!
However, I find several interesting people in the Tuesday section today :) One of them was interested in getting to know me and she is also a master's student here. She said she studied Buddhism and went meditation for 3 years. Wow. I should ask her if she recommends books or just general questions about meditation. The other student is just funny talking about the weather and being proud of herself (and maybe me) that she came to classes in this snowy day without having any insurance!
Also, I think I like being honest with these young folks. This course is unlike the course I taught before and this course is structured differently and I will do my best to help bridge the connections better. They all nodded and smiled. Great kids!
